Honda unveils slew of bike models in AP

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), the 100 per cent two-wheeler subsidiary of the Honda Motor Company Ltd, announced, on Monday, the launch of its first mass segment bike, CB Twister, in Hyderabad. Honda expects this to contribute to its growing volumes and increase its market share.

The bike, featuring a 110 cc engine, is being offered in three variants ranging from Rs 43,920 to Rs 50,020 ex-showroom depending upon the features.The company also unveiled its recently upgraded CBF Stunner and New Dio.

The Stunner is priced in the range of Rs 52,723 to Rs 67,102 ex-showroom and Dio scooter is priced at Rs 38,645 ex-showroom. Andhra Pradesh remains a major market for HMSI, contributing about 14 per cent market share. This year HMSI plans to sell 1,10,000 units here, through a network of 25 dealers and 34 branches and sub-dealers.

The company is looking at sales of over 12.5 lakh bikes this fiscal and potentially cross 1.5 million mark by next year. The company management is considering a new manufacturing base and a decision is shortly expected.
