MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – February 9, 2010: Volkswagen Fleet Services has recognised the achievements of its top-performing retailers and staff at a special Fleet Awards event held at Whittlebury Hall & Spa in Northamptonshire.

The six winners in four categories emerged victorious after participating in the company’s ‘Fleet Focus’ programme. This was originally launched in 2005 as Fundamentally Fleet, with the aim of educating, motivating and recognising excellence within the retailer network. Throughout 2009 participating candidates have undertaken a series of activities designed to measure their capabilities, with emphasis on customer service. This year brought the economic climate issues keenly into focus.

Volkswagen puts its success in the company car market down to a combination of first class products and quality service provided by its staff. In an industry which is built on strong, long-lasting relationships, knowledgeable, reliable and personable people who understand the importance of first-class customer service are essential.

This year’s awards ceremony, held on the 29th January not only recognised retailers’ performance but also incorporated a business meeting, at which the fleet department’s 2009 performance was reviewed and 2010 objectives outlined.

Commenting on the event, Kinner said: ‘I’m delighted once again to be able to meet the individuals who make such a difference to our business. The Fleet Focus programme has exceeded all our expectations and seen the standards in customer services rise. I am confident the skills developed through the programme will stand Volkswagen Fleet Services in good stead for 2010 and beyond.’
