ASHEVILLE, N.C.--Altech-Eco Corporation of Asheville, North Carolina announced today that they have obtained the world’s first and only Certificate of Conformity (COC) from the EPA for their BI-FUEL 2010 Ford Focus compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion system. The “bi-fueled” system means that the vehicle can operate on either natural gas, or on gasoline, with just the simple press of a dashboard button, with over 700 miles on a single fill-up.

A Bi-fuel natural gas vehicle allows users to take advantage of the widespread availability of gasoline along with the convenient option of using a cleaner burning and more economical alternative when natural gas is available. This flexibility makes the bi-fuel conversion perfect for many business fleets as well as residential consumers.

Altech-Eco’s EPA approved Bi-Fuel 2010 CNG Ford Focus conversion system converts the Focus to run on two fuels, either gasoline or CNG (CNG-only “dedicated” option also available) and includes a CNG cylinder with fuel storage capacity of 8.6 GGE (Gas Gallon Equivalent), and an CNG average of 39 mpg on the highway and 28 in the city, all with over 8 cubic feet of useable trunk space. Altech-Eco provides a lifetime warranty on all conversion system emissions components. Conversion systems available at select participating Ford dealerships and approved aftermarket conversion facilities.

By using Altech-Eco’s EPA approved CNG alternative fuel natural gas conversion systems, US consumers will have the opportunity not only to help the environment but also significantly reduce dependency on foreign oil, while saving significant money at the fuel pump. CNG is cheaper and have been proven to produce significantly less harmful emissions of pollutants like nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter (PM), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbons (UHC), carbon monoxide (CO), and sulfur oxides (SOx) as compared to gasoline or diesel fuel.

Altech-Eco is a development stage private company, is a division of privately held TransEco Energy and is not yet publicly traded.
