Tesla Wraps Up Historic EV Roadster Road Trip on Schedule

DETROIT--Tesla Motors concludes its historic Roadster Road Trip today when the electric sports car arrives in Detroit on schedule and in advance of the North American International Auto Show.

Starting at Tesla's retail store in sunny Los Angeles, the 2,700-mile journey was designed to raise awareness about electric cars, greet fans and owners nationwide, and prove that the Roadster is four-season rugged. The Roadster is expected to arrive at its final destination, Detroit's Cobo Hall, at 2 p.m. today.

The "Arctic White" Roadster with special decals made nearly two dozen stops, including customer appreciation events, recruitment initiatives on college campuses and "tech talks" with engineers. Tesla employees drove through nine states, three time zones and two blizzards, with one stop to install snow tires.
