Braselton, December 16, 2009: After missing the 2009 American Le Mans Series, Black Swan Racing is set to come back in a big way for 2010. The Tim Pappas-owned team has moved into a new shop in Harvard, Mass., a location that will be central to the team’s return to full-time competition next season.

“It’s good to be home in a spot that’s all ours,” said team manager Peter McCarthy. “We’re talking to our former team members and hiring more people to be full-time then ever before. We’re making a big commitment.”

The plan, McCarthy says, is to enter each of the Series’ nine rounds, plus a rigorous pre- and mid-season testing program. Black Swan last competed during the 2008 season with a Falken-shod Doran-Ford GT, which McCarthy says is attracting interest from more than one potential buyer for GT2 next year.

The team ran under the banner of Team Trans Sport in 2007 with a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR on Yokohama tires.

“The Challenge class looks very interesting to us,” McCarthy said. “But we are also seriously considering GT as that is where we have competed and feel it’s where we ultimately should stay. Bottom line, we were all disappointed not to race at all last year, but it was critical to focus on our core business in real estate. As a result of that time off, we will announce a major project in the coming weeks that will be central to our commitment to the American Le Mans Series and motorsports in the long-term.”

The American Le Mans Series will open its 12th season with America’s greatest sports car race, the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida from March 17-20. The green flag will fall at 10:35 a.m. on Saturday, March 20 with live coverage on SPEED.

The annual American Le Mans Series Winter Test is scheduled for February 22-23, also at Sebring International Raceway.
