BRACKNELL, UNITED KINGDOM – December 15, 2009: A popular Mini One, supplied by Scotthall, Hampshire, was the star prize in this year’s National Motor Museum Trust Prize Draw and the lucky winner was Mr Ian Green, of Cowley in Oxfordshire. Mr Green, bought his winning ticket whilst visiting the Beaulieu MotorMart Autojumble in May.

At the prize giving ceremony outside Palace House, Mr Green was presented with the keys to his new car by The Hon. Ralph Montagu. A delighted Mr Green, who purchased just one ticket in the draw, said: “I live within a mile of the BMW factory where this Mini was built and worked in the factory on what was then the British Leyland production line, during the 80s, so winning this car is a double pleasure.”

The winner of the second prize, a seat in a vehicle from the National Motor Museum collection on the 2010 London Brighton Run, was Mrs Irene Lavender of Hemel Hempstead. As a child, Irene used to be taken by her father in his motorcycle and sidecar to watch the cars as they arrived at the finish line on Marine Parade, Brighton. Irene said: “I can’t believe, after watching this run for so many years, that I am going to have the opportunity to take part, it’s a dream come true.”

The draw raised over £59,000 to further the work of the National Motor Museum Trust which is responsible for the world-renowned collection of over 250 motor vehicles and thousands of artefacts.
