All-Around SUV title for Land Rover's versatile off-road vehicle

MAHWAH, N.J., Dec. 10, 2009; Land Rover is proud to announce that the new LR4 has been named the All-Around SUV category in Bloomberg's first-ever Car of the Year. The LR4 beat out 20 sport utility and crossover vehicles to win in its class.

To qualify for Bloomberg's Car of the Year, models must be new or significantly revised for model year 2010, and be on sale by the first quarter of 2010. The selectees were evaluated by Bloomberg Auto Columnist Jason Harper in terms of overall performance, intelligent design and smart style, desirability and build quality. There are seven categories including: Car of the Year; Green Car; Economy; All-Around SUV; Sports Car; Family and Executive Sedan.

"We are pleased the Land Rover LR4 has been recognized as a leader by such an esteemed organization in a growing competitive market," said Chris Marchand, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Land Rover North America. "The Land Rover LR4 provides capability, versatility and all-around comfort in a modern package for 2010 and this recognition is a testament to its unique characteristics."

The new, fourth-generation of Land Rover's supremely versatile SUV gains a new name - LR4 - to go with its powerful, sophisticated new LR-V8 engine, fresh exterior identity and more premium cabin. The class-leading breadth of capability is extended even further with improvements for both on- and off-road driving. The LR4 receives new suspension components and geometry, revised steering, larger brakes, improved traction control and revised Terrain Response(TM) system for 2010. New user-friendly features have been added including Tow Assist, Keyless Entry, Push-Button start, and available Surround Camera system.
