BOTANY, UNITED KINGDOM – December 7, 2009: The Volkswagen Golf has claimed two awards in the Money Magazine ‘Best of the Best 2010’ Awards. The ‘Best-Value Small Cars’ Category was taken out by the Golf 90TSI and the Golf 118TSI claimed the ‘Best-Value Green Cars’ Award.

“To take out 2 out of 5 categories in the automotive segment with our new Golf really showcases the versatility of this vehicle. Apart from being a class leader in the small vehicle segment, the Golf is also convincing on its environmental credentials. Volkswagen’s TSI technology ensures your car is fun to drive while minimising your environmental impact,” commented Anke Koeckler, Volkswagen Group Australia Managing Director.

Wheels writer and motoring expert, Bruce Newton, explains his winning choice in the ‘Best-Value Small Cars’ category: “The sixth generation Volkswagen Golf is a great example of the virtues of going small. There are few weak points in a range that exudes engineering, design and build quality.”

In its ninth year, Money Magazine’s ‘Best of the Best 2010’ Awards recognize Australia’s best financial product, services and investments. Expert research partners select the 101 gold winners from tens of thousands or products.
