IRVINE, Calif.--IntelliChoice.com, a leading provider of automotive ownership cost and value analysis and part of Source Interlink Media, today announced the appointment of Charlie Vogelheim to the post of executive editor. Vogelheim will report directly to Greg Goff, president of Source Interlink Media Digital.

“Charlie is a true find for us. He is one of only a handful of people in the field who is both a subject matter expert in the auto industry as well as an individual with a deep understanding of the Internet and how consumers use it to research and purchase vehicles,” said Goff. “IntelliChoice.com is one of our flagship sites, offering consumers the opportunity to understand the full economics of car purchasing and ownership. Charlie’s background in automotive analysis and his expertise and strong Internet business acumen will help take IntelliChoice.com to the next level.”

Vogelheim has more than two decades of experience in the automotive industry. Most recently, he was vice president of Automotive Development at J.D. Power and Associates, where he created and produced the Automotive Internet Roundtable.

Prior to J.D. Power and Associates, Vogelheim spent 20 years at Kelley Blue Book, serving as a key member of its management team. He held the position of executive editor of Kelley Blue Book’s popular used-vehicle database, the cornerstone to all of the company’s products, including books, software and its Web site. Charlie was instrumental in helping to transform the Kelley brand from a regional trade publishing company to one of the automotive industry’s leading Internet information providers.

“I had the pleasure of working with IntelliChoice back in the 80’s as it was just getting started,” said Vogelheim. “I have always been a strong proponent of the value of cost of ownership data for consumers during the car buying process. At a time when there is more choice and a higher level of quality among cars, the information and data IntelliChoice.com offers makes the decision for buyers a bit easier.”

While at Kelley Blue Book, Charlie contributed to the development and implementation of several major automotive web sites, including the automotive sites at AOL, Microsoft, Yahoo, Google and e-Bay. Additionally he was chairman of the Automotive Internet Standards Committee regarding the development of all major automotive Internet sites.

Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. His education included one year abroad studying the formation of the Common Market/European Union.

Vogelheim is often a featured speaker at automotive seminars and educational meetings. He has been regularly featured as an auto industry commentator on network news and he contributes to numerous automotive publications and blogs.
