LAS VEGAS, November 1, 2009: After posting the fifth quickest qualifying effort this weekend, Bob Tasca III and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing were eager to start eliminations on Sunday morning in Las Vegas.

Tasca’s quickest pass of the weekend would seed him in the fifth position for Sunday’s elimination rounds. Tasca smoked the tires and lost to Del Worsham in the first round.

“We were a little too aggressive and smoked the tires,” said Tasca. “I stepped off the throttle and tried to roll back into it, but Del [Worsham] was on a wire-to-wire run. I pedaled my Motorcraft/Quick Lane Shelby Mustang once and then I saw Del go through the finish line.”

“I’m disappointed, clearly this wasn’t the outcome we wanted this weekend,” continued Tasca. “Our Mustang ran great, qualified great and did everything we wanted it to do. Sometimes you need a little luck to get past the first round and for us, it wasn’t in the cards.”

Tasca and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing will take one weekend off before heading to Pomona for the final race of the 2009 season.

“We’re looking forward to getting to Pomona,” said Tasca. “We still hope to finish this season on a high note and with three trophies.”

As both a Ford driver and dealer, Tasca helped Ford launch its campaign as the Official Vehicle of NHRA

“This was a big race for Ford as the Official Vehicle of NHRA,” said Tasca. “I think it speaks volumes to the platform that NHRA gives us to race on. Certainly Ford took notice and when the opportunity came up. I’m thrilled to see Ford take over as the Official Vehicle of NHRA. At the end of the day, it is about winning on Sunday and selling on Monday. Now with Ford as the official vehicle of NHRA, that will help us sell on Monday.”
