The Italian town of Terenzano will host the 2010 FIM Italian Speedway Grand Prix on 25 September it has been confirmed by BSI Speedway, rights holders of the world championship FIM Speedway Grand Prix series (SGP).

The Olympia Stadium, situated in the picturesque Udine area of north east Italy, hosted its first SGP event earlier this year and the organisers, MotoClub Olympia, impressed many with their enthusiasm and proactive approach as Paul Bellamy, managing director, BSI Speedway explains:

"The positive work ethic of the organisers at MotoClub Olympia shone through when they staged their first SGP event and we were delighted to reward their hard work and efforts with a new deal to host the FIM Italian Speedway Grand Prix in 2010.

"This event will continue to grow and benefit from the fact that Terenzano and the surrounding Udine area is a great place for visiting speedway fans to use as a base to take in the Grand Prix and also explore northern Italy, with Venice only an hour and a half away."

It is a feather in the cap for the club as the promoter, Simone Terenzani, who was a key figure in securing the Italian event for another year explains:

"It is a great honour for everyone involved at MotoClub Olympia that we will be hosting another SGP event. We have plans to make the event bigger and better in 2010 and look forward to welcoming fans from around the world to this wonderful part of Italy."
