Mundelein, October 23, 2009: On the heels of their sweep of the Atlantic Series Championship, Newman Wachs Racing drivers John Edwards and Jonathan Summerton jet-set to Mississippi for the Viking Classic, a PGA TOUR event. Happening just outside Jackson and sponsored by NWR partner Entergy, the Viking Classic is Mississippi’s premiere sporting event and draws 50,000 spectators over the course of the tournament.

The Entergy-sponsored “Nuclear Clean Air Energy” race car will be on display and both drivers will be on hand to champion the green message of nuclear power as they sign autographs and talk about their record-breaking season. Edwards won the Atlantic Series Championship just two weeks ago edging out teammate, Summerton, by virtue of a tie-breaker. Collectively, Edwards and Summerton have won eight of the twelve races of the Series in 2009.

John Edwards, driver of the #36 MAZDASPEED/ Nuclear Clean Air Energy/ Entergy/ NEI car:

“While I haven’t had much time to play golf this year, I’m looking forward to being near the greens as we talk about the clean-green energy of nuclear power – and, of course, the exciting race season I just finished. Entergy has been a terrific partner to our race team for the past two seasons.”

Jonathan Summerton, driver of the #34 Nuclear Clean Air Energy/ Entergy/ NEI car:

“Anytime you get a chance to participate in a sponsor event, it is an opportunity to show your appreciation as a driver. Without the sponsors, we wouldn’t get a chance to do what we love. I can’t say I’m as talented on the golf course as I am in my race car, but I have an appreciation for the sport and what those guys go through to be at the top of their game.”
