MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – October 16, 2009: Suzuki GB hosted its annual Guild Awards Ceremony at Fawsley Hall in Daventry this week. The competition, which was split into three categories, attracted over 900 entrants from the company’s 149 car dealerships in the UK. The categories were: Aftersales Advisor, Sales Executive and Technician.

All participants were required to sit four online assessments, with the results determining who then underwent a series of practical tests at the company’s Milton Keynes HQ training centre to decide the final winner.

Martyn Owen of Pebley Beach Suzuki in Swindon fought off stiff competition to win the Technician of the Year trophy. Phil Dickins from Cumbria Suzuki in Kendal emerged triumphant in the Sales Executive category and Rob Curthoys received the winning trophy in the Aftersales Advisor award.

This high profile competition is one of the best funded schemes in the industry, and provides a great incentive for dealership staff to improve their skills, thereby ensuring Suzuki customers are provided with the highest standards of after sales back up and support.

Commenting on the awards David Seward, Suzuki GB’s Director of Sales and Marketing said; “The Guild forms an important part of the Suzuki GB distance learning programme. Our programme of comprehensive training ensures the smooth and efficient operation of all departments within the dealership and ensures our dealers are giving customers the best possible level of satisfaction in the industry.”
