New Brand Terminal for Audi in Berwick, Victoria

ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – October 16, 2009: Audi has opened a brand new dealership in Berwick, Victoria, known as Audi Barry Bourke.

This brand new dealership is a first for the suburb of Berwick and is built according to Audi’s ‘terminal’ architecture. With its striking, folded honeycomb-pattern brushed aluminium façade, the dealership is based on the brand’s global architecture which is gaining momentum in Australia following the opening of several high-profile structures. The curved windows and curved surfaces inside the striking silver-clad showroom recall the dynamism of Audi’s long and successful motorsport history.

This provincial dealership is the first of its kind in Victoria and sets the standard of Audi dealership design of the future.

Construction of the $2 million facility began in February this year and was completed in just six months with Audi Barry Bourke opening its doors on 10 August 2009.

The 1,600 square metre facility boasts showroom space for 10 new cars, 4 service bays and room for 20 Audi Approved Plus pre-owned vehicles outside.

Located at 755 Princes Highway, Berwick, in Victoria, owner Barry Bourke and son, Darren, who is the dealership’s Dealer Principal, have lived in the area for more than 20 years and are well-known in the local community.

Dealer Principal, Darren Bourke, said the family was pleased to represent Audi for the first time, citing the German luxury brand’s success in Australia over the past four and a half years as one of the key reasons for the decision to join the brand’s national network.

“For the past three years we have been talking to the team at Audi Australia about the possibility of an Audi franchise based in Berwick. This seed of an idea is finally a reality as we open the doors to Audi Barry Bourke,” Darren Bourke said.

“We are glad to join the growing Audi brand in Australia which we can clearly see is on a successful growth path, especially in Victoria where the potential exists for an expanded dealer network.”

Audi Australia’s managing director, Joerg Hofmann, says the company is pleased to welcome the Bourke family to the Audi brand.
