WASHINGTON - October 15, 2009: The 2010 fuel economy ratings prove that hybrids have gone mainstream. Not only are 9 of the top 10 vehicles on EPA's best fuel economy list hybrids, but there's now a hybrid for everyone. It's not either a Prius or and Insight any more. The thirty-two 2010 models offer car buyers the choice of an SUV or passenger car, an economy or luxury model, a Chevy, Ford, Saturn, Mercury, GMC, Cadillac, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Mazda, BMW or Mercedes; the 2010 models have an energy-efficient hybrid for almost everyone. And most models still qualify for a substantial federal tax credit.

Check out the new 2010 hybrids, clean diesels (which also qualify for tax credits), alternative fuel vehicles and more energy efficient gasoline-powered vehicles at www.fueleconomy.gov or go mobile with www.fueleconomy.gov/m.

And while you're there, compare your car's carbon footprint to the new models', get tips on how to max out your car's miles per gallon, find out what kind of mileage drivers like you are really getting with their vehicles, and much more.

You'll find all the new hybrids at www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/hybrid_sbs.shtml
