Subaru Returns to Guernsey

COLESHILL, UNITED KINGDOM – October 14, 2009: After an absence of 18 months, Subaru has come back on the island of Guernsey.

Le Mont Saint Garage Ltd, one of the isle’s most successful independent franchise dealerships, has started selling Subaru models again – reviving a tradition that goes back nearly 21 years. David Beausire, who owns the successful business, says it is the brand’s commitment to quality and reliability that convinced him to get back on board.

He said: “The products are incredibly well-priced and specified and the build quality is also fantastic. I’ve been in the motor trade since I left school in the 1970s and Subarus have always been among the best-built cars on the market. The vehicles stand apart from the crowd and people are very, very loyal to the brand: if they’ve had one before, they’ll go for one again.”

Le Mont Saint, which is found in St Saviours on the island’s west, boasts a four-car showroom, two dedicated sales staff and an extremely busy two-bay servicing workshop. It’s a real family affair, with David’s wife and two sons all involved in the business.

To mark the triumphant return, Le Mont Saint recently arranged a four-car static display of Subaru models at Guernsey airport. The theme for the event was ‘Subaru has come home’ and according to Beausire some 8,000 passengers saw the two Imprezas, Forester and Legacy on their way to and from the channel island. “We’re the first to people to do this,” he continued. “It’s a great place to showcase the products.”
