HIGH WYCOMBE, UNITED KINGDOM – October 8, 2009: TWENTY-SEVEN spectacular musical mechanical mash-ups, twenty-seven unique concepts and twenty-seven talented musicians – but there can only be one winner. Never mind the X Factor, 30beats could be the ultimate music competition of the moment.

The nation’s bedroom DJs and basement producers have made their own beautiful music using the Hyundai i30 as their instrument and now it’s up to the UK’s vote-loving public to pick their favourite. After a month of late nights messing around with a selection of samples recorded from the Hyundai i30, 27 wannabe super stars have mixed down their tracks, uploaded them onto YouTube and submitted them for the public vote.

Entries have come from across the country; some have kept their remixes pure and used nothing but the car sound samples from the i30, others have added extra layers of music, synthesizers and drums. Some have enhanced their remix with quirky and thoughtful videos using animation, 30beats footage and clever cut outs of i30 pictures. Others have opted to let the music do the talking.

Tony Whitehorn, Managing Director of Hyundai, comments: “We knew they were going to be good, but the creativity and concepts have exceeded all of our expectations. There is a real variety of different sounds and videos and the votes are already coming thick and fast. We can’t wait to see which ones come out on top and win the car worth over £11k.”

30beats is an inspirational homage to everything mechanical, making sweet music with a sample pack of beats to integrate into your very own musical masterpiece. The sample pack is still available to download for anyone that has not had a go at making their own mechanical mash-up yet.

Voting will take place for one month ending at 11.59pm on October 31, 2009. For more information or to place your vote and help pick a winner visit http://www.30beats.co.uk/entries/
