Former Wunderkind Mark LaNeve, General Motors' Top Sales-Ad Guy Leaving

DETROIT October 7, 2009; Mark LaNeve, General Motors Corp.'s top ad executive in North America, is leaving the company, President-CEO Fritz Henderson said today in a conference call with reporters and analysts.

Mr. LaNeve, 50, will join another undisclosed company outside the auto industry.

In a letter to GM dealers CEO Fritz Henderson wrote.
“Mark has contributed significantly to GM in several key positions, including transforming the Cadillac brand and leading the Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing organization during one of the most challenging periods in GM’s history,”
