MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – October 7, 2009: BMW Group Australia today announced it will commence a review of its advertising creative agencies roster, in line with its objective of reviewing such arrangements every five years.

“As part of international protocol, we are required to review all our agency partnerships every five years,” said Tom Noble, general manager of Marketing at BMW Group Australia.

“We also underwent this process two years ago with our media buying partner Mitchell’s Media,” he said.

The current creative roster includes lead agency Badjar Ogilvy, digital and CRM agency VI as well as retail agency Wagner Business Development.

“Our current agencies have done an outstanding job for us and all have a relationship with BMW Group Australia in excess of 10 years, so this is absolutely no reflection on their performance.”

“As such we will be conducting this as a closed pitch with a selection of agencies that we believe could potentially meet our needs,” he said.

BMW will be meeting with hand picked agencies over the coming weeks with a view to developing a short list by early November and an appointment after the New Year.

BMW is currently the most successful premium car brand in Australia. Last year the German brand sold an all-time record of 17,263 vehicles locally. BMW Group is also acknowledged, by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, as the word’s most sustainable car manufacturer
