Skoda Australia Announces Its Vehicle for the Global Green Car Challenge

BOTANY, AUSTRALIA – October 2, 2009: The newly launched Škoda Superb, the most luxurious car Škoda has ever built, is officially taking part in the Global Green Car Challenge later this month. With its timeless design and spacious interior, combined with class leading fuel efficient technology, the Superb will truly mark its place in the large car segment of the challenge.

Entering the challenge with the top of the range 2.0 TDI engine, the Škoda Superb will be able to deliver the performance, fuel economy and low CO2 emission needed for the harsh Australian terrain.

Operating with common-rail direct injection, the 2.0 TDI engine provides 125kW of power and a maximum torque of 350 Nm between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm.Combined with driving performance with top speed of 220 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, along with matched 6-speed DSG (Direct ShiftGearbox) transmission, the Superb 2.0 TDI unquestionably delivers impressive

running performance.

With ADR 81/02 consumption as low as 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres in highway (extra urban) running conditions, and competitive low CO2 emission of 182g/km, the Škoda Superb is predicted to outclass other large family vehicles in the large
