SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – September 2, 2009: Leading power company E.ON, which earlier this year took delivery of more than 100 new Fiat Grande Punto vans, has ordered a further 77 of the popular commercial vehicles.

In April, 101 Grande Punto vans were supplied to E.ON’s meter reading division by Fiat Professional, Fiat UK’s commercial vehicle section. The new vans were funded by contract hire company Lloyds TSB Autolease, and were specially prepared for this particular activity. All are equipped with air conditioning, reverse parking sensors, rear window protection grille, protective mats, speed limiter and alarm.

The original deal was designed to generate new savings in fuel, CO2 levels and cost of ownership, and that has clearly been a success, as this latest agreement proves.

“It’s fantastic news that E.ON have chosen to take further Grande Punto vans from us, following the excellent deal earlier this year,” says Colin Parnell, regional corporate sales manager, Fiat Group Fleet. “The first vans have been well received by E.ON and have already proved their fuel efficiency, environmental-friendliness and superb value in terms of ownership cost.”

Combining all the comfort, style and quality of a car with the convenience and robustness of a commercial vehicle, the Grande Punto van is proving a top choice among fleets. Powered by Fiat’s tried and tested 75 bhp 1.3 16v MultiJet engine, the range starts at £9,495 plus VAT
