Volvo S60 Concept On Display At Europe's Largest Games Fair

COLOGNE, Germany,Aug. 20, 2009 -- GamesCom, Europe's largest trade fair for interactive games, opens today in Cologne, Germany, for the first time. More than 400 exhibitors will present the latest within the area of interactive entertainment electronics. Also present is Volvo S60 Concept - the star of Volvo's popular computer racing game "Volvo The Game" - now with over half a million users.

Volvo Cars launched "Volvo The Game" at the end of May in collaboration with Swedish game development company SimBin Development AB. The game is free to download and the Volvo S60 Concept dominates the line-up together with some well-known Volvo racing cars.

"Volvo The Game" has gained immense popularity from the start. According to the latest statistics more than half a million unique users have downloaded and tested fictitious racing with Volvo cars (560,982 unique users as per 14 August 2009).

Volvo Cars and SimBin display the Volvo S60 Concept in the game giant Atari/Namco Bandai's exhibition stand at the trade fair in Cologne. The concept car is there to view 19-23 August.

The trade fair GamesCom opens its gates for thousands of retailers and gamers. 420 exhibitors from 30 countries will present the latest innovations in the area of interactive entertainment electronics. More than 150 games, including numerous world, European and German premieres can be expected. The fair is open for the public 20-23 August.
