AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 11, 2009 -- Auto enthusiasts can celebrate a personal or professional milestone - or recognize a colleague or loved one's passion - with two commemorative programs benefiting the Walter P. Chrysler Museum Foundation -- Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle. The nonprofit Museum, in Auburn Hills, Mich., is launching both programs to give enthusiasts an avenue for public expression and to raise funds for programs and exhibitions.

The Brick Legacy program encompasses thousands of paver bricks gracing the Museum's front porch and expansive back patio. Providing a blank slate for engraved messages of celebration, recognition and other sentiments, the bricks will create an outdoor exhibition of permanent, personal declarations that will greet Museum visitors for decades to come.

Paver bricks are available in 4" x 8" at $125 and 8" x 8" at $250 and accommodate 12 character messages of three and four lines, respectively. Walter P. Chrysler Museum members, at all levels, can purchase paver bricks at a $25 discount.

The Adopt-a-Vehicle program enables individuals and groups to support the care and maintenance of a favorite among nearly three dozen of the vehicles on exhibit in the Museum. Ranging from a 1902 Rambler to a 1997 Plymouth Prowler, the options represent such orphan marques as AMC, DeSoto, Hudson, Nash and Willys, as well as heritage models from the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands.

Adopters will be recognized on signs in visible proximity to their adopted vehicles, which can be adopted "in memory" or "in honor" of someone and noted as such on the sign.

Vehicle adoptions are $500 per year or $450 for Museum members at all levels.

Contributions for both the Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle programs are tax deductible. Funds from the programs will be used for operations and to maintain the Museum's total heritage vehicle collection, respectively.

Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle reservation forms are available online via the Support the Museum tab of the Museum's new Web site at www.wpchryslermuseum.org and can be submitted via fax at 248-944-0460 or mail at One Chrysler Dr., CIMS 488-00-00, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. The Museum accepts payment via check or American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.
