MUNICH, Germany, August 10 -- DENSO Corporation will present its advanced technologies at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show September 17-27, 2009. DENSO's new technologies and products, with a focus on the environment, safety, comfort and convenience, will be on display in Hall 4.0, booth B09.

DENSO will exhibit its Integrating Efficiency display. It shows a variety of products that reduce the amount of fuel consumed while driving and that contribute to the efficient use of fuel energy. This approach also will help improve the vehicle's environmental aspects, lowering CO2 emissions, without influencing the vehicle's safety, comfort and convenience.

In the Integrating Efficiency display, DENSO will introduce technologies that contribute to reducing the use of fuel, such as gasoline direct injection products, common rail system for diesel engines, and hybrid vehicle system products. The company will also showcase technologies that contribute to the efficient use of fuel energy, such as a cold storage system that stores cooled air to help cool the vehicle's cabin when the air conditioning is switched off during idle stops.

Environment, Safety, Comfort and Convenience

Environment: DENSO will exhibit the world's first permanently engaged starter in which the pinion gear is constantly connected to the engine's ring gear. This mechanism enables faster, quieter and smoother operation of idle stop and start systems.

Safety: DENSO's new thin film transistor (TFT-LCD) instrument cluster displays all the information of a conventional cluster, but also allows the driver to change its display modes to his or her preferences. The cluster has an integrated night-time vision system and can show coordinated car navigation information, such as route directions and upcoming lane information, on a full-screen, TFT-LCD display.

Comfort: DENSO will showcase the world's first passenger vehicle air conditioning system that uses ejector technology. The ejector, which is a small refrigerant injector, reduces the compressor's workload and contributes to an overall reduction in power consumption.

Convenience: The company also will display the world's first remote touch controller for vehicles with a two-dimensional cursor on the display screen, allowing the driver to control cabin equipment, such as the car navigation system, audio system, and air conditioning system.
