BAULKHAM HILLS, AUSTRALIA – July 29, 2009: Subaru Australia has announced a major sponsorship of this year’s Sydney to the Gong charity bike ride in aid of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Australia.

More than 10,000 riders are expected to participate in the November 1 event, which draws both enthusiasts and serious cyclists, and is aimed at raising $2.5 million for MS Australia.

Starting from Sydney Park, St Peters, the ride covers 90 kilometres to Wollongong, with a morning tea stop at Loftus. There is also the option of a shorter 58 km ride starting from Engadine.

Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior, said: “This respected charity event is a great fit with Subaru’s recreational image.

“We will be promoting our new generation Outback wagon at the ride. The Outback has a long-established reputation as a highly capable recreational vehicle offering the type of versatility that cyclists really appreciate.

“MS Australia is a very worthy cause and the ride contributes significantly to the work they perform in supporting people living with the disease Australia-wide and conducting valuable research.”

The Sydney to the Gong MS Bike ride is in its 28th year.
