MALVERN LINK, UNITED KINGDOM – July 23, 2009: The Morgan Motor Company will be celebrating its Centenary in style at Cheltenham Racecourse over the weekend of 1st and 2nd August.

The weekend kicks off with a Cavalcade of 100 Morgans parading from the Centenary Centre at the factory in Malvern to the Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday 31st July between 15.30 - 17.00.

The route will take the cars along Pickersleigh Road, along the B4208 and through Hanley Swan to the main A38 through Tewkesbury and finally running along the A4019 to the racecourse at Cheltenham. We invite you to come out to watch this colourful and historic variety of Morgans spanning the past 10 decades - bring flags and cheer along examples ranging from the early 3 wheelers to the latest Aero 8. To comply with Worcestershire Police requirements the cars will leave in groups of 10 with a 10 minute gap between each group - this should ensure that local traffic is not disrupted and we hope that you will both enjoy the spectacle and join the participants in the celebration of an unrivalled motoring heritage.

The Centenary Festival at the Racecourse is an action packed weekend of entertainments, from Parachute displays, The White Helmet Motorcycle Display Team, through Morgan driving and skill tests, Concours D’Elegance to a steam fayre, shopping village and entertainments for both young and old throughout the two days as well as the largest ever gathering of Morgans in one place.

The Saturday evening concert headlines “The Rolling Clones” – enjoying the reputation as the best tribute to the Rolling Stones, and “One Night Of Queen” – featuring Gary Mullen, winner of Stars In Their Eyes, who will be recreating and paying tribute to one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Definitely not to be missed.

On Sunday evening, there is a change of tempo, with a spectacular outdoor picnic concert featuring the English Symphony Orchestra conducted by the renowned Jae Alexander and Paul Leddington Wright. Soloists Natasha Marsh and John Hudson will join the Saint Michael’s singers for a concert of well known and rousing classical music, culminating in a firework spectacular.
