Go Daddy Delivering Dramatic IndyCar Action to Canada

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--GoDaddy.com is an official sponsor for the Canadian broadcast of the inaugural IndyCar Series race through the streets of Toronto. The Honda Indy Toronto takes place Sunday.

The 11-turn temporary street circuit runs through downtown Toronto, passing the city’s National Trade Center and National Soccer Stadium, and will be broadcast on Canada’s TSN network.

“Canadian fans are revved up for this Toronto race,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “People familiar with the sport in Canada are thrilled about the return of open-wheel racing to Toronto, and we’re happy to help make it happen.”

Parsons is referring to the days before the Indy Racing League merged with Champ Car. At that time, Toronto was a staple road course in open wheel racing. Go Daddy Girl and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick may have a little extra edge in Toronto too. Danica’s race strategist and team co-owner, Michael Andretti, won seven times in Toronto during his open-wheel career as a driver.

The Go Daddy Girl is currently fifth in the IndyCar Championship points race, making the Honda Indy Toronto an important step in her quest for the overall IndyCar Points Championship.

Danica was introduced to the world as a Go Daddy Girl in 2006. Danica has been featured in three of Go Daddy’s legendary Super Bowl commercials, including this year’s “Enhancement” ad, which ranked as the Super Bowl’s “Most Watched.”

Go Daddy hosts Danica’s Web blog, www.GoDaddy.com/Danica, and serves nearly 7MM customers. Go Daddy is a world-leading domain name registrar and Web hosting company with an office in Toronto. Go Daddy offers the .CA domain extension to Canadian customers looking to get online.

Go Daddy’s first auto racing victory was recorded in Montreal, when Ron Fellows won NASCAR’s Nationwide Series race driving the Go Daddy car last year.

To watch the Honda Indy Toronto broadcast sponsored by GoDaddy.com in Canada, tune in to TSN, Canada’s leading 24-hour all-sports network, at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
