Shanghai, July 7 (Gasgoo.com) Sweden-based Volvo Construction Equipment Co.,
which makes excavators, haulers and trucks, has launched a test and
technology support center in Shanghai and expects better China market
conditions, Shanghai Securities News reported.

The company aims to sell 3,000 to 4,000 units in China this year, Eberhard
Wedekind, its Asia Pacific president, said last Thursday after launching a
150 million yuan ($21.96 mln) test and technology support center in
Shanghai.

Volvo Construction Equipment Co. is confident about the Chinese market as
the government's stimulus package, which focuses on housing, rural
infrastructure and transportation, is offering new commercial and
development opportunities, Wedekind said.

The company's annual sales in the Chinese market had risen 35 percent in the
past four years. "China will continue to dominate the world's construction
equipment market," he said at the launch.

Volvo Construction Equipment Co. is the world's third largest manufacturer
of construction equipment, with its excavators, haulers and trucks widely
used in the mining sector. Its Shanghai support center will provide
marketing, technology R&D, training and test services.
