Third Monthly Sales Increase for Chevrolet!

LUTON, UNITED KINGDOM – July 6, 2009: Great value for money and stylish design needn’t be expensive, as thousands of new car buyers have found out by turning to Chevrolet – a brand which has completed a hat-trick of monthly sales increases.

The fastest growing car brand in Europe saw its sales increase by 30 per cent in the UK in June, compared to the same month in 2008. Proof that even in a depressed car market, value for money is king.

Renowned for its dependable yet stylish range of well-equipped cars. Chevrolet bucked market trends, with 2,403 new cars registered during June.

Matiz and Aveo were the best-performing models, although the Captiva full-size SUV also saw an impressive increase in sales – more than doubling those achieved by Hyundai’s rival Santa Fe.

Chevrolet MD Mark Terry said: “We have had yet another phenomenal month, where once again Chevrolet sales have outperformed the market by quite some margin. With the new Cruze about to go on sale and even more new cars to come, this performance shows that not only is Chevrolet a brand to get excited about, but it is also one that is rapidly winning over the hearts and minds of value-conscious customers.”

Part of Chevrolet’s recent growth is down to the company’s keen involvement in the government-backed scrap incentive scheme, where customers can save money on new cars by disposing of their old 10-year old or more example.

But while some manufacturers are applying only the minimum saving of £2,000 across their ranges, Chevrolet customers can get more for their money, with savings of up to £6,365 on certain models, at participating retailers.

July also sees the retail launch of the all-new Chevrolet Cruze four-door – a car described by Autocar as “surprisingly impressive”, by The Daily Telegraph as “carefully targeted and subtly developed for people who want a good value car that'll look after them” and by consumer champion Which? as “impressively capable”.

The Cruze costs from £11,995 on-the-road, and is eligible for cash-for-scrap incentives.
