Website Will Benefit Thousands Making Annual Pilgrimage to Famous Monterey Car Week Events

MONTEREY, CA - July 4, 2009: MontereyCarWeek.com has been established to provide automotive enthusiasts with an Internet resource for planning their annual visit to the famed Monterey Car Week. “I created this website as a result of years of frustration when trying to find details on all the classic car auctions, car shows and other events that have evolved during Car Week”, says Alex Chavez, Co Founder of MontereyCarWeek.com. Each August, several hundred thousand car enthusiasts journey from across the United States and around the world to attend more than one dozen Classic Car-related events including Automobilia Expositions, Classic Car Auctions, Rallies, Vintage Races and the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where the most elegant cars in the world are invited to compete for the prestigious honor of Best of Show. “Each year, at least one new event surfaces and it takes hours to comb through magazines and websites to learn details about them”, remarks Chavez. “You have to hope you know about everything going on and that you don’t miss out on something great”.

What started out decades ago as a two-event weekend with a Concours and Races has steadily evolved over the years into a full week of public and private events. MontereyCarWeek.com will help visitors connect directly to event websites and learn about accommodations and more on the Monterey Peninsula. “We’ve posted a News section where people can read the latest press releases”, shares Co Founder Danielle Wipf-Chavez. “This will be a convenient resource for visitors but also for journalists planning coverage of one or more events”. To date, events have been forthcoming with the many details and images of featured cars on display or for sale, ticket information and more. “We hope the events and businesses in the area will fully utilize this resource and realize the more details they provide, the more exposure we can give them to site visitors”, says Alex.

Veteran visitors to Monterey Car Week know that accommodations fill up early with many booking reservations one year out. Rates increase closer to the August timeframe. MontereyCarWeek.com offers suggested resources for lodging in the area as well as dining. “Our goal is to create a one-stop resource for all things Monterey Car Week”, shares Alex. The site has been populated with wonderful images from previous Car Week events. “We want people who have never visited Monterey Car Week to get a true feel for what they will experience when they come to visit”, says Danielle. “There’s just no way to describe the cars and the atmosphere, you have to see it for yourself and if you’re a car fanatic like my husband, it’s a week of pure heaven”.
