Best Ever Month for Mazda in Australia

NOTTING HILL, AUSTRALIA – Junly 1, 2009: Mazda Australia has recorded its best sales month in its history, retailing a bumper 8,406 vehicles in June.

The impressive result shattered the company’s previous best of 7,565 set in March 2008.

Two full months since the launch of New Generation Mazda3, Mazda’s hugely successful small car has achieved its best ever sales month, with 3,741 sales. Mazda3’s previous best of 3,347 sales was set in January 2007.

Mazda sold 23.1 per cent more Mazda3s than last month and sales are up 13.8 per cent year-on-year.

Records continued to tumble with the popular full-line importer’s light commercial utility range, BT-50, achieving its best ever month with 1,327 sales of its 4x2 and 4x4 turbodiesel models.

Mazda also sold 1,202 super sexy Mazda2s in June.

Mazda Australia managing director Doug Dickson said: “This truly is a wonderful result for Mazda and our world-class dealer network, with very solid sales across all of our line-up.

“It clearly demonstrates that the New Generation Mazda3 will build on the success of the original model.
