LAVERTON NORTH, AUSTRALIA – July 1, 2009: Suzuki Australia has started its own scrappage scheme with a new Suzuki Upgrade Bonus offer on its award winning range of vehicles.

“We have been pushing hard for Australia to adopt a scrappage scheme similar to those being employed with great success around the world,” said Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers.

“Customers in Europe, the US and even New Zealand are being encouraged with cash incentives to trade in their old cars for a new car with higher levels of safety and superior fuel economy.

“Suzuki Australia has decided to offer its own scheme with the Suzuki Upgrade Bonus.”

Devers said customers wanting to trade in their current car to one of the award winning Suzuki range would be eligible for a bonus upgrade ranging from $1500 to $4000.

The deals start with a $1500 upgrade bonus on the Swift and Swift S range and $2000 for the rally inspired Swift Sport, while every model in the SX4 range is entitled to a $2500 upgrade bonus.

Suzuki’s Grand Vitara range, complete with six airbags and ESP® stability control has recently been named Best Compact SUV by 4x4 Australia and Overlander 4WD magazines for the second year in a row.

Customers trading in a car on a new Grand Vitara will score a $2000 upgrade bonus on the 3-door, $2500 on the 5-door and turbo-diesel models, and $3000 on the four-cylinder Prestige and $4000 on the range topping V6 Prestige.

The legendary Jimny Sierra – already the lowest priced genuine 4x4 in the country – now represents even more value with the availability of a $1500 upgrade bonus on all models.

Commercial buyers have also been included in the Suzuki scheme, with the reliability and convenience of the APV now available with a $1500 upgrade bonus.

“Unlike scrappage schemes which only reward buyers trading in a car at least nine years old, the Suzuki Australia scheme is available to registered trade-ins of any vintage.

“There has never been a better time to upgrade to the safety, reliability and environmental friendliness of a new Suzuki,” said Devers.

The Suzuki Upgrade Bonus Scheme will finish on July 31. Customers wishing to take advantage must trade in a registered vehicle.
