Nova Bus' Plattsburgh plant officially open

SAINT-EUSTACHE, QC, June 15 -- Nova Bus is celebrating a major milestone with the official opening of its newest bus assembly plant, located in Plattsburgh, NY.

More than 200 Nova Bus colleagues were joined by other members of the community for the inauguration ceremony of the new 140,000 sq. ft. plant in Banker Road Industrial Park.

Nova Bus president and CEO, Gilles Dion, stated, "We are proud to be able to serve the American public transit market, and we look forward to developing strong new partnerships with operators, as well as with the state of New York and the Plattsburgh community."

Operations have already begun, with the very first client bus expected to roll off the assembly line before the end of June. A 90-day ramp-up period is underway, to ensure a smooth transition into full-time operation to meet the demands of the plant's already full production schedule for 2009. The plant is equipped to assemble the entire line of LFS vehicles, including the 40 ft. diesel-fueled Nova LFS, the hybrid electric LFS HEV and the 62 ft. articulated LFS Artic.
