Guidepoint Introduces VTAC GPS; Providing Protection and Peace of Mind for Teens, Parents and Other Drivers Concerned About Vehicle Security and Safety

PONTIAC, Mich., June 3 -- GuidePoint Systems announced it has launched VTAC GPS, a new vehicle tracking and control system that provides high-tech, GPS-based protection for cars, trucks and fleets.

VTAC GPS (www.vtacgps.com) combines the technology of satellite tracking with the power of the Internet to give consumers a comprehensive and reliable means to monitor their vehicle and protect their loved ones.

With a suite of protection features at the user's fingertips, VTAC GPS owners can instantly view and track the speed and position of their vehicle from the Web browser of any Internet-enabled computer. In addition, they can set alerts to inform them when the vehicle has left a location or reached a destination, or travels outside a preset boundary. This is extremely useful for parents who want to ensure that young drivers travel safely. Every VTAC GPS system also includes Guidepoint's award-winning stolen vehicle recovery service, plus other security and safety features including E-Call(TM) for emergency dispatch to the vehicle's location.

The VTAC GPS can also be expanded to provide several driver convenience features. Installation professionals can enable features such as remote door unlock, car finder or remote start from any computer. Additional parts and/or labor charges may be required.

"Teenage drivers are more likely to get into accidents than any other age group," said Rand Mueller, chief executive officer of Guidepoint. "Being able to monitor their driving habits and ensure that they get to where they're going can take a lot of worry off of a parent's shoulders."

The VTAC GPS is powered by Guidepoint, a leading supplier of GPS-based products and services for systems sold through car dealerships and specialty retailers nationwide. VTAC GPS owners have access to Guidepoint's 24/7/365 response centers, which provide stolen vehicle recovery, emergency dispatch, driving directions, roadside assistance and convenience services to drivers. In addition, owners can upgrade their service packages to receive unlimited tracking, discounts on vehicle- and travel-related services, and more.
