OAKVILLE, CANADA - June 2, 2009: Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited outpaced the industry in May marking the company's seventh consecutive month of market share growth. Results were driven by products across the lineup including Ford Focus, Ford Escape, Lincoln MKX and Ford F-150.

"Amid tough industry conditions, we continue to increase our market share," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. "These results are driven mostly by new customers coming in to drive our new products. In fact, nearly 50 per cent of sales come from new models, which is up 15 per cent from last year."

Ford will also be launching the 2010 Taurus this summer with prices starting at $29,999. Enthusiasts will also be excited about the all-new Taurus SHO which comes with the advanced EcoBoost engine offering up to 20 per cent better fuel economy and 10 per cent less CO2 emissions.

"Taurus proves that Ford is evolving into a true car company," said Mondragon. "The Taurus helps further define what Ford is capable of delivering – quality, fuel-efficient vehicles featuring the latest technologies and head-turning design."

The luxury Lincoln brand also realized 11 per cent sales growth with the MKX sales increasing 15 per cent and Navigator sales rising 15 per cent compared to last May, building momentum for the summer launch of the all new full-size luxury crossover: Lincoln MKT.
