AUTO CENTRAL – May 26, 2009: National Oil Check Week 2009 (June 15-19) is going on tour, with a four-date roadshow at venues across the UK highlighting the importance of basic car maintenance.

Motorists are risking up to £300 million a year in repairs on engines that have seized up because the oil level is too low, with over 5 million admitting they never check their oil, despite the potentially expensive consequences.

Car care specialist, Comma, is launching the National Oil Check Week roadshow as part of the campaign’s efforts to encourage Britain’s 30 million drivers to take better care of their cars.

The roadshow, where motorists will be offered free oil checks and top-ups, will visit Edinburgh (Gyle Shopping Centre, Monday June 15); Manchester (Trafford Centre, Tuesday June 16); Bristol (Cabot Circus, Thursday June 18) and Europe’s largest shopping centre, Bluewater in Kent (Friday June 19).

For more details about the roadshow and the National Oil Check Week campaign, visit www.checkyouroil.co.uk.

National Oil Check Week is supported by Mobil 1, technology partner to Lewis Hamilton’s Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team and Halfords, the UK’s leading retailer of car parts and accessories, which will also be offering free oil checks at its stores across the UK, as well as a £1 discount on Mobil top-up products.

The week of activities will come as Hamilton, the youngest ever F1 World Champion, prepares to contest his home Grand Prix at Silverstone on June 21.

To claim your free voucher for an oil check and top-up, worth £15, visit www.checkyouroil.co.uk.
