INGOLSTADT, GERMANY - May 15, 2009: Audi continued its run of success in the reader’s poll “Auto Bild Design Award”, taking two first places and one second place in the vehicle design poll. The brand is therefore once again one of the most successful brands in the survey conducted by “Auto Bild” magazine. While the Audi A4 allroad quattro took the top spot in the category “SUVs, Vans and All-wheel Drive Vehicles”, readers selected the Audi Sportback concept as their number one pick in the category “Study and Concept Cars”. Complementing this success, the Audi A5 Cabriolet came in second in the category “Coupes and Convertibles”.

Around 100,000 readers took part in the design poll, selecting from 83 vehicles in five categories. The magazine awarded these honors for the fourth time since 2006, with Audi consistently making the short list of winners.

This year the A4 allroad quattro won first place in the category “Off-road vehicles and SUVs” by a decisive margin, with 44.7 percent of readers voting for the brand new Audi model versus 21.4 percent who chose the second-placed car as their top pick. The Audi Sportback concept unveiled by the brand at the Detroit Auto Show early this year won first place in the category “Study and Concept Cars” with 14.7 percent of the votes. The Audi A5 Cabriolet came in second in the category “Coupes and Convertibles” by winning 21.3 percent of the votes.
