Shanghai, April 14, 2009: (Gasgoo.com) France's Renault SA has recently announced the setting up of its Greater China division, to be led by Mr. Chen Guozhang (Robert Chan), former general manager of Nissan China Investment Co.'s Nissan-brand imports unit, said Gasgoo.com today.

Renault China is headquartered in Beijing and will be responsible for Renault's businesses in China's mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. It will simultaneously promote Renault's brand, products, sales strategies, marketing and human resources in these regions of China.

Renault SA said that the establishment of Renault China division shows Renault's commitment to the China market and confidence in this market's fast growth. Its China unit is expected to boost the competitiveness of Renault as a globally renowned auto brand in the Chinese market.

As the close partner of Nissan Motor, Renault has restarted its auto import strategy in China, one of the world's most important auto markets, since Laguna, a medium-grade sedan, is launched here in late February this year, said Robert Chan.

In the Chinese market, Renault will be positioned as a leisure and luxury brand, and will bring in 14 auto types including below-1.6L cars in the coming three years. The first Renault urban SUV Koleos will be put to the Chinese market later this week.

Next, Renault China will build up its sales outlet network across the country. The French carmaker expects to achieve sales of up to 3,000 cars in China this year, Renault China president Robert Chan predicted.
