Bradenton, FLA. April 8, 2009: Champion drag racers John and Mike Coughlin have good reason to be excited about competing in Division 3 in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series this year. The famous racing brothers, two of four siblings that own and operate JEGS Mail Order, have new pipe and new powerplants to help them chase the title in the competitive Top Dragster class.

Longtime Team JEGS crewmen Rick Rossiter and Tony Collier are working hard on the duo's new dragsters, built by the renowned Mullis Race Cars shop in Bradenton, Fla. One of the biggest projects is inserting and testing the handmade Sonny Leonard motors that should help put the dragsters consistently in the 6.60- to 6.70-second range.

Team JEGS will begin its season April 24-26 at the NHRA Division 3 opener at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. In addition to his quest for a Top Dragster title, John also will be running in Super Stock throughout the year.

John won the Division 3 Top Dragster championship in 2007, the same year Mike won the Top Sportsman title.

John and Mike's nephew, Troy Coughlin Jr., will join the team when school permits, racing in Super Comp.
