Stuart Jackson Becomes New Tyresafe Chairman

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – April 1, 2009: Tyre safety group TyreSafe has announced that Stuart Jackson, managing director of Vredestein UK, has become chairman of the organisation. He recently replaced former chairman Rob Beddis as the public face of TyreSafe and will continue Beddis’s good work in raising awareness among motorists of the importance of tyres in road safety.

“I am delighted to take up the role of TyreSafe chairman,” comments Jackson. “I have been impressed by the commitment shown by TyreSafe to providing clear and accurate tyre safety advice to the nation’s motoring public. Promoting correct tyre maintenance is of fundamental importance in reducing the number of road accidents on the UK’s roads, and in my new capacity as chairman I will be pleased to do whatever I can to help communicate the organisation’s message to the widest audience possible.”

Since its inception in 2007, TyreSafe has worked tirelessly to reach car owners, motorcyclists, and operators of HGV, off-highway and agricultural vehicles with targeted media campaigns. The organisation has held a highly successful Tyre Safety Month two years running, with a second Bike Tyre Safety Month due to take place in April. Visitors to the organisation’s website increased by 130 percent in 2008, while last year’s Tyre Safety Month campaign generated substantial media interest across a broad spectrum of publications and attracted the support of major vehicle manufacturers.
