INGOLSTADT, GERMANY – March 30, 2009: Audi is the preferred car maker among builders and trade contractors in Germany. The brand was the readers’ first choice in both categories for a German-made “Executive Station Wagon of 2009”, as surveyed in the trade publications Deutsche Handwerks Zeitung and Handwerk Magazin. While the Audi A4 Avant took the laurels in the standard-size category, the Audi A6 Avant prevailed in the full-size category. Altogether 29 station wagon models were considered.

Sporty and dynamic design, combined with high utility: the Avant concept so impressed participants in the readers’ survey that it was elected “Executive Station Wagon of 2009”. Over 80 per cent of the participants stated that they used their station wagons for both private and business purposes. Thanking the readers, Markus Siebrecht, AUDI AG General Sales Manager for the Region East, noted: “As small-business owners in the trade sector, these customers place an especially wide range of demands on their company cars. This makes us especially pleased that they picked Audi”. Siebrecht accepted the awards on the weekend during the International Automobile Show (AMI) in Leipzig, Germany.

The Audi A6 Avant has now achieved its second victory in a row, having led business station wagons in the contest for “Executive Station Wagon of 2007” in the last survey. This year the A6 Avant set itself even further apart from the competition: one out of every two participants voted for the premium model from Ingolstadt in the full-size category.

With its top position in the standard-size category, the Audi A4 Avant completed the success of the brand with the four rings.
