BMW X6 M to Make World Debut in New York
Woodcliff Lake, NJ - March 27, 2009: Finding new ways to expand the boundaries of what's possible
with existing designs is the singular purpose of the craftsmen at BMW M. The modern legacy of BMW M
began in 1985 when engineers placed the race-bred engine from the M1 supercar into the BMW 5 Series
sedan and created the first BMW M5. The M5 was a sedan with power, precision, and linear control never
before imaginable. In New York, BMW M will introduce the next milestone in its illustrious history: the
BMW X6 M. The X6 M will utilize several new engine, drivetrain, and suspension technologies to
transform the world's first Sports Activity Coupe into a BMW M product.
The BMW X6 M will share the spotlight at the New York International Auto Show with an array of models
including the all-new Z4 Roadster and the fifth-generation of the flagship 7 Series. Other featured
vehicles will be the Advanced Diesels and the freshly updated 2010 BMW 5 Series and 6 Series models
