AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 23 -- U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine on Feb. 21 awarded its 2009 Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) President's Award to Olabisi (Bisi) Boyle, Director - Powertrain Product Engineering, Program Management and Quality, Chrysler LLC.

Boyle and other 2009 BEYA recipients were honored at the 23rd BEYA Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference held at the Hilton Baltimore Hotel and Convention Center in Baltimore, Md. Boyle joins a long list of Black Engineer of the year Award winners at Chrysler.

BEYA annually recognizes engineers who have achieved exceptional career gains in government and industry, in lifetime achievement and in pioneering feats.

"Bisi has proven herself as an outstanding leader and role model for African-American engineers," said Frank Klegon, Executive Vice President - Product Development, Chrysler LLC.

Boyle joined Chrysler in May 2004, and is responsible for the successful execution of all powertrain programs, including more than 70 engine, transmission and driveline product programs.

"Bisi's innate ability to simultaneously inspire those around her and lead change makes her a highly valued member of the Chrysler executive leadership team," said Bob Lee, Vice President - Powertrain Product Team, Chrysler LLC, who presented Boyle at the awards gala.

"This is a great honor," said Boyle. "I owe so much to my family and to the great engineers I've worked with during my career in automotive and at Chrysler."
