AUTO CENTRAL – January 21, 2009: Women have long lamented the car-buying process and now, thanks towww.autochic.com.au- Australia's number-one ranked car website for women - the age-old question of what women want when it comes to buying a car has finally been answered.

The poll appeared onwww.autochic.com.aufor over three months and asked female members to vote for what the car industry could do to make them feel less intimidated when buying a car.

The Results
With over 50% of all new car purchases now being made by women, and with 85% of all car purchases decided on by the fairer gender, car companies better listen up: over 5,000 respondents showed that women want more female sales staff, female-specific car clinics and girls-only dedicated evenings and events.

Auto Chic's Managing Director, Kathy Hamill, commented: "The poll results are encouraging for the car industry in that women are keen to engage with them, and get more information and advice about all things automotive. But it's also proof positive that given the choice, women prefer to get that advice from other women."

According to Auto Chic's Founding Director, Juliet Potter, it's all about relationships: "For the car companies who implement any of these initiatives, they're on the road to not only helping eliminate the perception that the automotive industry is 'blokey', but are also building brand loyalty along with increasing their sales results. It's a win-win result."
