Nothing Red About Ferrari Australia's 2008 Sales Figures!

HOMEBUSH, Australia – January 7, 2009: Ferrari has confirmed its position as Australia’s number one supercar company with Australian distributor, European Automotive Imports (EAI), delivering 163 cars in 2008, an 12.4 percent increase over 2007 according to VFACTS figures released today (6 January 2009).

With its 2008 result EAI has not only lifted Ferrari sales every year following its takeover of Australian distribution in 2005, it has also ensured that Ferrari has beaten its traditional rivals Lamborghini and Aston Martin to the chequered flag, a feat that will probably prove to be unique around the world.

With demand consistently running ahead of supply to the point where EAI enters 2009 with an order book for one model, the new California, containing more than 200 names, the coming year is set to be another record-breaker for Ferrari, in stark contrast to predictions for the market place as a whole.

“Ferrari owners know that their cars have design and technology directly derived from the white heat of competition in Formula One, something that none of its rivals are able to match,” explains Kevin Wall, General Manager for Ferrari at EAI. “Only a Ferrari is produced by the same company that has won more World Championships than any other and which has then been honed to perfection by the most successful driver of all time. This means that not only is a Ferrari as uniquely capable on the road as it is on the race track, it also has a heritage that is, quite simply, unsurpassed. It is this combination that ensures Ferrari enjoys continuing and consistent demand.”

In 2006, the first full year of distribution by EAI, Ferrari delivered 101 cars in Australia, a new record in itself. This grew to 145 in 2007 and in 2008 Ferrari has set a new record with sales of 163.
