Valence Technology to Participate in the Deutsche Bank 2009 Auto Analysts of New York Detroit Auto Conference

AUSTIN, Texas January 6, 2009: Valence Technology, Inc. , an international developer of safe lithium phosphate energy storage solutions, announced today it is participating in the 2009 Auto Analysts of New York Detroit Auto Conference, hosted by Deutsche Bank, being held Jan.13-15, 2009, at the MGM Grand in Detroit, Michigan.

Valence Technology President and CEO Robert L. Kanode will address an audience of industry participants and investors as part of the Advanced Vehicle Exposition component of the Deutsche Bank conference at 1:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at the MGM Grand. The Company will also have an exhibition booth set up at the event.

In addition to Mr. Kanode, a large contingent of other thought leaders from the automotive and automotive products sectors including industry management teams, institutional investors, private investors, and financial sponsors of the industry will also be in attendance. The Deutsche Bank conference coincides with opening week of the 2009 North American International Auto Show at the Cobo Center in Detroit, one of the world’s largest gatherings for the automotive sector.

Valence Technology’s presentation will be available via audio webcast along with a link to slides which can be accessed by visiting the Investor Relations website at www.valence.com under the Company section and clicking on Events and Presentations.
