AUTO CENTRAL – December 2, 2008: The Jaguar XF has won the Best Luxury Car over $60,000 category in the 2008 Drive Car of the Year awards. The XF 2.7 Diesel beat the Lexus LS460 and Mercedes Benz S320 CDI to take the title.

Chris Lidis, General Manager Jaguar Australia, commented " We are delighted to win this prestigious award with the XF. It is a clear sign that Jaguar's new design direction has been warmly received by journalists and customers alike in the Australian market"

The judges were lavish in their praise of the contemporary feel and styling of the XF. "Jaguar has tried something different and the XF has moved interior automotive design forward" said one judge."The XF is unique" said another, referring to both the Jaguar interior and it's coupe-like sheetmetal that contrasts with the more traditional three-box-sedan approach of the rival BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6.

The judges were also impressed with the ride and performance of the XF 2.7D. "There's even more polish to the XF's driving experience with wonderfully linear, accurate steering and a superbly judged ride/handling balance"

Priced from $108,350 for the 2.7-litre diesel, the XF comes as standard with a generous specification featuring a host of innovative, industry-leading equipment. Highlights include the all-new JaguarDrive Selector and JaguarSense - a smart technical solution introducing touch or proximity-sensing control for overhead console lights and glovebox.
