STUTTGART/BOCHUM - November 17, 2008: Mercedes-Benz was honoured last Friday with two golds at the ADAM and EVA Awards. The Stuttgart based carmaker won the coveted EVA Award in gold in the category "Corporate Events" for the world premiere of the CLC Sports Coupé at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. In the "XXL over 1,500 m2" category, the "Road to the Future" trade fair stand at the IAA 2007 received a gold ADAM, a coveted German trade fair communications award.

The world premiere of the CLC took place in January, 2008 at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. During the fashion performance, models have been showed in animated design sketches and were linked to the new design of the CLC. As highlight two Mercedes-Benz CLC vehicles were presented on the runway. The presentation of the Sports Coupé showed the connection between fashion and automobile design. The jury praised the Bonn agency Pleon Event & Sponsoring for the "outstanding analogy between fashion creation and automobile design." "It was an intelligent presentation that successfully conveyed a link between a virtual and a real world. The message: design is universal", concluded the jury.

Mercedes-Benz also received gold for its trade fair stand "Road to the Future" at the IAA 2007. The Stuttgart based carmaker was honoured with the ADAM Award in the category "XXL over 1,500 m²". The key element was a so-called "carwalk". In line with the theme "fascination and responsibility", Mercedes-Benz presented a wide array of new, very fuel-efficient and clean-running models with intelligently combined drive technologies. The surrounding three-story brand world with the area "TecTalk" where visitors received information on technological innovations and drive system solutions from Mercedes-Benz complemented the concept. "The trade fair stand again met visitors' expectations," said the jury. They praised the emotional brand world as being "in a class of its own." The firm Kauffmann Theilig & Partner was responsible for the trade show architecture, and Atelier Markgraph was in charge of the media presentation.

In addition, another project of the Stuttgart based carmaker received an award. In the "Consumer Events" category the “smart test drive” won the silver EVA Award. At busy urban locations in 13 German cities, some 3,000 passersby spontaneously took a test drive to find out about the advantages of the smart in terms of fuel efficiency and manoeuvrability.

The winners were picked by an interdisciplinary jury consisting of leading experts in event and trade fair communications and top representatives from industry, science and the media. All in all, the jury examined nearly 200 competition entries. Every year, the Marketing Event Agency Forum presents the EVA Awards in honour of outstanding marketing events and live promotional campaigns. The prizes for the ADAM awards are conferred by the Trade Show and Exhibition Forum.
