MX-5 Cup Broadcast Schedule Comes to a Close

TOPEKA, Kan. November 14, 2008: The final race of the 2008 SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup season will hit the airwaves this weekend, airing nationally on Dish Network and DIRECTV.

MX-5 Cup heads to the west coast and beautiful Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to close out the 2008 season. Championship point leader Eric Foss starts the 45-minute race from pole in the No. 30 Team MER/Autobarn Mazda MX-5, but only needs to be classified as a finisher to earn the 2008 MX-5 Cup Title. Don’t think for a second Foss will be playing it safe though, the 2008 SCCA Spec Miata National Champion spends the entire race in a three-car battle with Championship rival Brad Rampelberg (No. 14 Hooverspeed/Mazda MX-5) and 17-year old Christian Franck (No. 16 Alara Racing/Select Painting MX-5). Just when you think the order has been settled, a full-course caution comes out on lap 18, giving everyone a shot at the win once more.
