Professional-Strength Products To Be Available at Convenient Retail Locations

ATLANTA, Nov. 6 -- Zep Inc. , one of the nation's leading providers of professional automotive maintenance products, is making a new line of Zep Commercial products available to independent mechanics, small auto repair shops, and do-it-yourself consumers through a number of auto aftermarket retailers.

"For years, Zep has supplied a broad array of recognized and trusted automotive maintenance products to auto dealers, auto fleets, service companies and other larger-scale customers," explains Lisa Malloy, President, Zep Retail. "Today, through the Zep Commercial product line, we're bringing many similar, professional-grade products to smaller businesses and consumers who prefer to purchase products at retail, giving them the products they want in the way they want to purchase them."

Malloy notes that many car maintenance activities are performed either by do-it-yourselfers or "do-it-for-me" independent mechanics and small auto repair shops. She says the size of this market and the broad market penetration of aftermarket retailers should help Zep reach a large percentage of purchasers and will add to the company's bottom line growth.

Initial Product Line

The company is launching the new Zep Commercial line of auto aftermarket products with an initial offering of hand cleaners, cleaners/degreasers, and specialty products including tire shine and lubricating spray products, among others. Additional products will be added later. Highlights of the initial product line include:

-- Zep Commercial Concentrated Cherry Hand Cleaner - a liquid hand
cleaner fortified with pumice and mild solvents.
-- Zep Commercial Fast Lube Lubricating Spray - a soy-based lubricating
aerosol spray that cleans parts and protects them against rust and
      corrosion.
-- Zep Commercial Granular Concrete Degreaser - an easy-to-use,
fast-acting alkaline cleaner that removes heavy grease and oil
      deposits from concrete floors.
  -- Zep Commercial UltraPurple Concentrated Degreaser - a water-based
alkaline cleaner and degreaser that quickly dissolves stubborn grease
and oil stains from engines, heavy equipment and unfinished concrete.

"Professional mechanics and car enthusiast consumers alike will be impressed by the professional strength of these Zep Commercial auto aftermarket products," Malloy adds, noting that their high performance means maintenance projects can be done quickly and efficiently, saving time and money.

She adds that the products are also available in a variety of sizes and packaging options, from small bottles with trigger-spray applicators to larger gallon and five-gallon sizes, to meet a variety of customer needs.

Retail Partners

The Zep Commercial line of auto aftermarket products will be available at major automotive aftermarket retailers in Spring 2009. The company will work with these retailers to provide training materials, sales collateral, point-of-purchase displays and promotional items designed to generate sales.
